About Gemstone

Sodalite is a naturally occurring mineral known for its rich blue color, often ranging from deep royal blue to softer blue tones. It commonly forms with white calcite inclusions and veining, creating distinctive patterns that contrast with its deep blue base and give each stone its own natural character.

With a vitreous to greasy lustre and a hardness of around 5.5–6 on the Mohs scale, Sodalite can be polished to a smooth surface that highlights its color and natural patterns. Its opaque appearance and strong color contrast make it particularly striking when shaped into cabochons and other jewellery forms.

In jewellery, Sodalite is appreciated for its intense blue hues, organic white veining, and naturally varied patterns. The combination of deep color and contrasting mineral inclusions gives the stone a distinctive presence, allowing each piece to showcase a different expression of its natural formation.
