Blue Lace Agate is a delicate variety of banded chalcedony, a microcrystalline form of quartz, known for its soft blue color and fine, lace-like patterns. Its natural bands can appear as gentle waves, clouds, or intricate layers of blue and white, giving each stone a distinctive appearance.

The stone typically ranges from pale blue to soft blue-grey, with translucent areas that allow light to pass subtly through the material. Its characteristic banding develops as layers of silica-rich material form and crystallize over time, creating the fine patterns for which Blue Lace Agate is known.
