A Wooden Jewelry Box with a Natural Amethyst Geode
A new piece has arrived in the shop: a wooden jewelry box painted in deep violet shades and topped with a natural amethyst geode. This one-of-a-kind piece brings together hand-painted patterns, the warmth of wood and the raw beauty of a natural crystal. The amethyst’s irregular shape and distinctive crystal formations make the lid unique, while the violet palette connects the stone with the painted surface.

From Polished Stones to Raw Crystals
I've made many wooden jewelry boxes featuring natural stone cabochons, and recently I started thinking about a different way to combine wood and gemstones. Instead of using a polished stone, I wanted to try working with a raw crystal, keeping its natural shape and texture intact. I was curious to see how it would look alongside the painted patterns and the structure of the box.
This amethyst geode box is the first piece to come out of that idea. I'm planning to continue experimenting with different crystals, shapes and colours, exploring how each natural formation works with a new painted design. I don't have a fixed plan for the series yet, and that's part of what makes this project interesting to me.

The Natural Beauty of Amethyst
Amethyst is a variety of quartz known for its purple colour and crystalline structure. In a geode, crystals grow naturally within a cavity, creating an irregular surface with variations in shape, size and shade. No two formations are exactly alike, which gives each piece its own character.
The raw amethyst cluster contrasts with the hand-painted wooden surface, bringing together natural crystal formations and patterns created by hand. This one-of-a-kind jewelry box is both decorative and practical, perfect for keeping small treasures or jewellery.
This one-of-a-kind box is now available in my online shop. It’s a unique piece, and there won’t be another one like it.
